Susan Willemse: Born in Rhodesia it was in South Africa that I met Steve and where my Art started. However I have spent 30 years as as medical scientist practicing Cytology in both Africa and Australia. My first Australian bird was a little cockatiel that led to our two cockatoos in Africa. So this website actually started 30 years ago on another continent with our love of Australian birds and Art. I hope you appreciate our passion for all these little feathered friends. Bird watching is both therapeutic and a learning curve and we feel everyone can experience this pleasure and have at least one portrait of their feathered friends in their home because no matter what happens there will always be a friendly song and flutter of color to brighten your day.
Steven Willemse: Steve is the brains behind the photographic lenses, GPS and computer screens in this hobby because he has the the technical ability to process all those "how does this work?" questions thrown at him that is so essential to get these images .He has many years service in the Airport industry in both Africa and Australia and thus plays a important role in all things flying both in landing aeroplanes and photographing birds. Of note is our logo- a pathtag from geocaching. I would highly recommend any one wanting to explore Australian nature to get and use one of these devices as they help in the location of the rarer birds that are often seasonal and hard to find. We both hope you enjoy these images.
